Given the nature of the show, don’t expect many familiar faces. Out of the 456 competitors in season one, only one survived. However, Seong Gi-hun will return, along with Wi Ha-joon as police detective Jun-ho and Gong Yoo as the Salesman. New cast members include Park Gyu-young, Jo Yu-ri, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Lee Jin-uk, rapper Choi Seung-hyun (aka T.O.P), Roh Jae-won, and Won Ji-an. This diverse lineup addresses some fan backlash over the initial all-male cast announcement.

Returning characters might appear in flashbacks, as Gi-hun reflects on his fallen friends. Creator Hwang has expressed regret over killing beloved characters and is considering ways to revive some of them.

Plot for Squid Game Season 2

At the end of season one, Gi-hun emerged victorious against all odds. However, the game isn’t over. With the death of the Squid Game creator, Gi-hun discovers the competition is still ongoing with new recruits. Season two seems to center on Gi-hun’s quest to stop the games, seeking revenge against those behind it. Lee Jung-jae has hinted that Gi-hun will return to the arena, suggesting a continued battle against the game’s creators.

The emotional and moral dilemmas Gi-hun faces will likely deepen, especially as he may not be able to avoid taking lives this time. Wi Ha-joon’s character, Hwang Jun-ho, could continue to explore the origins of the games and his brother’s involvement. There are also unresolved questions about the Front Man’s past and how his sudden wealth went unnoticed.
