Deadpool & Wolverine has come a long time in cinemas; however, the wait was worth it for MCU movie.

Names like Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, and director Shawn Levy have been fixing it around the world ahead of time for the movie. They did not discuss most of what is possible about Deadpool 3 though.

Some things about the marketing up to this point we do know, like cameos of X-men, that the Wolverine is not the same one as before, whether or not to expect Taylor Swift, and so on.

Don’t worry if you’re not up-to-date on the MCU or X-Men series as Levy has said the movie doesn’t require any “homework”, noting: ”This movie is to entertain only, there is no need to watch the coming documentaries and be ready with a brief research findings.”

However, you might need to get some background information on the new movie before tuning in; well, we can help with that when it comes to Deadpool 3.

Deadpool 3 release date: When is the Deadpool and Wolverine coming out?

Deadpool 3 is out in theatres now after hitting the theatres in the UK on July 25 and in the US on July 26.

The release of the movie was initially to be on September 6, 2024, which was then shifted to November 8, 2024, then it was advanced to June 2023 and pulled again to the current date.

The movie has also already created a record concerning the first day’s sales; which is indicative of a colossal barbecue opening. This is still expected to open in the US to $160 million, while earlier estimates pointed to $200 million – though still a record for the R-rated comedy.

The movie completed the shooting part in January 2024, and to this Ryan Reynolds posed a revealing snapshot of his crotch and Hugh Jackman posted a video of getting a hair trim.

It was shot from May to July 2023 until the writers and actors strike brought the film makers in Hollywood to a standstill.

It resumed in late November 2023 when the filming resumed but the production was affected by set leaks. But none of those will be seen here because we wish try to retain the surprise factor.

Deadpool 3 trailer: Here are the Deadpool and Wolverine trailers for you to watch!

The first trailer for Deadpool 3 came out a month later during the Super Bowl, February 11 of the year 2024.

It may not show much of Wolverine besides his back and his shadow, but there is Loki’s crossover as Wade Wilson is kidnapped by the TVA and many hints at the sight of the movie’s violence.

The first trailer set a new record with 365 million views in its first 24 hours, breaking Spider-Man: of where No Way Home stands as the holder of the record for the most watched trailer ever.

We will have to wait and watch whether a second trailer that might be released can equal or better that record. The new trailer was released on April 22, which is also our first and the best look at Wolverine in the movie and the first shot of the villain played by Emma Corrin.

Since then, there has been many TV spots, but many of those just reused some of the footage from the trailers.

Though, one of them announced the actual appearance of Tyler Mane as Sabretooth as we have seen it in the set leaks.

Deadpool 3 runtime: Deadpool and Wolverine: how long is it?

Yes, we now know that Deadpool 3 is indeed going to last 127 minutes and 45 seconds, or 2 hours and 7 minutes and 45 seconds shall we?

That running time makes it the longest Deadpool movie so far eclipsing Deadpool clocking in at 108 minutes and Deadpool 2 at 119 minutes.

It’s nowhere close to being the MCU’s longest movie though, which remains Avengers: Yes, Endgame, which is, in fact, 174 minutes long!

Deadpool 3 age rating: Should children go watch Deadpool and Wolverine?
This may be a Disney movie nowadays, but Deadpool 3 has not been the place where the Merc with a Mouth is reformed regarding the rated-R content.

Deadpool & Wolverine has been rated R in the US and closed with a 15 certificate rating in the UK; making it the very first MCU movie to have such a rating.

Well, in the US at least, everyone can theoretically go see a movie with an R rating in a theater, but anyone under 17 cannot enter without an adult. Regarding the UK it can eliminate the youths as only those above the age of 15 years can go and watch the movie at theatres.

That is quite a change from the usual 12A rating that MCU movies get that can be watched by everyone and under 12s should be accompanied by an adult.

Deadpool 3 post-credits scenes: In the end credit how many scenes are there in Deadpool and Wolverine?

 

We have verified that Deadpool & Wolverine does have one bonus scene to hang around for during the credits there is also a nice montage that plays during the credits.

Deadpool 3 cast: Is Deadpool and Wolverine going to be made and if it would who would be those parsing the lead roles?

 

Well of course, Ryan Reynolds was always going to be back as Wade Wilson, aka Deadpool and he is joined by some seriously big names.

That’s right ladies and gentlemen, Hugh Jackman, the Australian actor will be joining the MCU as Wolverine. After the second trailer up to the present, it was made very clear that the Wolverine featured in this film is not the same with those in X-Men.

Well, that is not a big shocker there as Reynolds and Jackman have claimed they do not wish to spoil the ending of Logan.

As for the new addition in the overall Marvel franchise, fans would also be pleased to find out that the lead character of the film is played none other than Emma Corrin.

The second trailer also gave substantial hopes for the rumours that starred Corrin as the X-Men supervillain Cassandra Nova. Boys have used Willy Wonka for the concept of villain and girls have used the concept of beauty so make what you will out of it.

Seems like Matthew MacFadyen from Succession will also join the MCU DeadPool 3 the first trailer gave insight that he is a TVA agent going by the name Mr Paradox.

DP2 gave fans a number of new characters being part of X-Force team and the audience now knows that Stefan Kapičić indeed reprised his role as Colossus.

The first trailer also showed the back the X-Force members Negasonic Teenage Warhead played by Brianna Hildebrand, Yukio played by Shioli, Kutsuna, Shatter star played by Lewis Tan, and Peter played by Rob Delaney.

But curiously enough we will not see Domino, Zazie Beetz announced that she will not appear in the third movie.

Another character, who barely escaped death in the entire Deadpool movie franchise assuming that the scene after the credits in Deadpool 2 is canonical, is Vanessa, Deadpool’s girlfriend. Jose, Morena Baccarin reprised her role as Vanessa, and she is present in the first trailer that came in April 2023.

Baccarin also recently had to come to Vanessa’s defense saying that fans were wrong for accusing the movie of ‘bridging’ her in the sequel.

”I can see why people were of such a feeling and of course I myself was so bummed out that I did not get to do more because I just adored the role so much,” she added.

However in the film I felt such an emotional attachment to the part while reading the script also it was such a crucial event in the film to top it up the eventual space that my character covers in the plot of the film and the entire flow of hero’s character in the film is triggered off because of what happened to my character.

 

Deadpool 3 itself wasn’t shown, but for the first trailer, Aaron Stanford reprised his X-Men role and Pyro also featured and second trailer was a Lady Death strike and Azazel. Again, it was not immediately discernible as to who was portraying these characters.

Of course Sabretooth is back played by Tyler Mane and there must still be many more cameos yet to be concealed.

About the return of Pyro, Levy has stated that anybody from the past in the movie is due to the plot and not because of the fans.

“I’ll say we didn’t sit down with a wish list,” said the director,” but from the day we began to design this Deadpool & Wolverine story, instead of the characters defining what was possible, we let the possibilities be defined by the story alone.”

“Aaron and his return as Pyro was an outgrowth of that and that applies to pretty much all the characters that you would see in the movie.”

It is still unclear whether Doug Atrust will return in the movie as Cable/Josh Brolin alongside that Vinnie Jones has opted out of reprising the role as Juggernaut despite being offered a role.

There was a heads-up with Reynolds and tweet about Blind Al coming back between him and Leslie Uggams who portrays Deadpool’s roommate and it was announced in March 2023 that she is to reprise her role.

Same announcement also disclosed that Karan Soni is also returning as Dopinder and this is not the first or second Deadpool movie which he is going to do but third.

And if another MCU crossover is on your wish list with Charlie Cox dropping by as Daredevil, then stop hoping: Cox elaborated in December 2023 that he would not be in Deadpool 3. However, as one would expect, he would say that, wouldn’t he?

 

Although doesn’t it feel like we are (probably) getting the return of Jennifer Garner as Elektra? It was mentioned in July 2023; however, when asked about her return in November 2023, Garner did not quite agree with the observation.

Patrick Stewart has also been toying around with a possible reprisal of the character of Charles Xavier mentioning that ‘it has been discussed’ but did not elaborate.

Self-acclaimed ‘Shake It Off’ singer Taylor Swift could be a candidate to be appearing as Dazzler since this is a rumour that is persistent. It is not very shocking that Levy has not made any comment on the said reports.

 

That self-same player quickly added “I’m going across the board no comment because that’s a double whammy.” “That’s Taylor-related,” he said, and then “And it’s MCU-related. I’m no dummy.” As usual, I will have to wait and see.

Reynolds further submitted on the last day of November 2023: “That’s right, every single one of these secrets and spoilers, come July 26th”.

To be specific, EW stated that although Swift is not in the movie, her fans do not have a long time to wait to see whether or not this is true.

 

Deadpool 3 plot: What will be the issue concentration of the Deadpool and the Wolverine?

 

Despite the fact that it is possible to watch two trailers and a numerous amount of interviews with the representatives of the cast and the director, it is difficult to understand what Deadpool 3 is going to be about.

 

A plot tease from the co-writer Rhett Reese in June 2022 made people believe that the third movie will explain how Deadpool got to the MCU, indicating that the character will overtly switch universes and did not need to change retcons before.

Indeed the first trailer suggested this, as Deadpool is taken to the TVA and is given an opportunity to be an ‘Everyman hero’. It implies that the first two movies are still in existence and not the newly introduced film as a complete reinvention of the character.

The second trailer then promised that Deadpool requires Logan’s assistance to save his world, which Wolverine would be in familiar territory as he sees worlds getting destroyed. ‘This Wolverine let down his entire world’, MacFadyen’s TVA agent voices in.

Prior to official come lection of Jackman, Reynolds in a tweet early this year 2021 that the third film was going to be Rashomon-style road trip with Deadpool and the Wolverine before the Disney Fox merger.

Reynolds has since disclosed this was one of the several ideas that he proposed to the Marvel execs, but that Kevin Feige discarded.

 

Feige said: ‘Quite honestly, I wasn’t even sure how to integrate Deadpool yet’ to Empire.

That first meeting, I very much remember pondering the ways in which mutants and the X-Men could be introduced into the MCU and I felt it had to be more than just repeating the hits which are the movies we’ve seen so far. But Ryan is an idea factory. He must have presented that to me, but he came with another 25 ideas.

Jackman being involved means is the movie is not your run-of-the-mill threequel. Once again, we have a third movie with Deadpool, but it is not Deadpool 3, although it being Deadpool Wolverine movie is along the same lines, said Shawn Levy.

“And it’s not attempting to replica something from the first two films, great as they were but it is a two-hander character story.

That is virtually all that is known about the third movie aside from the fact that, of course, Deadpool and Wolverine are enemies.

”I am speaking from my point of view, [Logan’s] annoyed at him – [he’d] rather be as far away from the guy as humanly possible or punch him in the head,” Jackman pointed out. “Well, more often than not in this movie, he can’t actually be a million miles away from him, so, err… yeah; I’m basically going to be pummelling him, it seems.”

Would it also be possible for other film stars from X-Men series to pop into that movie as well? As for the post-credit scene of The Marvels, Monica Rambeau wakes up to a reality where Beast (Kelsey grammer) and Binary, the alter ego of Maria Rambeau (Lashana Lynch), exist.

Perhaps more of this world will be seen in Deadpool 3. Just a few weeks to wait to see that.

 

All that is certain is that the movie is “not like any MCU movie”. “We did not expect it would be like this defining moment when people wonder what does MCU stand for anymore,” Levy expanded in June 2024.

“Can it surprise us? Can it break moulds in ways that we don’t expect? While claiming that this movie is one of the answers to such questions can be seen as a boast, this is the hope that people have.”
